Working as a poll worker for my precinct, was very exciting but it was hard work. In the morning there was good voter turnout. By 11am we already had 75 people place their paper ballot vote. I had the pleasure of working with a local high school student and two veteran poll workers. At lunch time the paced started to pick up; however, I expected a lot more voters. Nevertheless, I spoke too soon and around 3pm we had more people in line than we can process. The line was out the door in our small voting location. The voter traffic did not slow down until we closed the polls at 8pm. There was no time for even a minute break, because there were so many people waiting to vote. It didn't surprise me that we also had many problems with the paper ballots, my fellow veteran poll workers explained that electronic voting is much faster than paper ballot voting. In any case, my estimation of voter turnout was roughly 300 for an average of processing 75 voters per poll worker. Furthermore the biggest problem that I observed was the confusion of voters in their voting precinct location. Many didn't received voting location information and others just couldn't find their precinct. The county needs to provide additional information for voters in order for them to find their voting precinct. If that information is not provided to each voter, then at least it should be provided to the polling locations, so that we may direct people to their appropriate precinct. A map would help greatly, because some locations were located in people's homes (away from major streets) and were hard to find.
These are the general overall county results àhttp://www.election.co.riverside.ca.us/eresults/46/Election%20Result.htm
